How to Beat Chiffon Overview

Chiffon is a buffer, debuffer, and attacker all rolled into one unit, though with a bit of randomness thrown in there. She can boost the DEF of all her allies by 60%, grant them shields, and heal them. But she can also debuff enemies by putting them to sleep and decreasing their CRIT RES, making them vulnerable to her team's main attackers.

Bow-Wow-WOW!	Level 1 (Unlocks by default) Increases all allies’ DEF by 50% for 4 turns.
	Level 2 (Unlocks by level 81) Additionally increases all targets’ ATK by 10% for 4 turns.
	Level 3 (Unlocks by level 161) Additionally grants all targets［Shield］equal to 100% of Chiffon’s ATK for 2 turns.

If an enemy is a target, this skill deals 1 magical attack equal to 200% of Chiffon’s ATK to them, decreasing their chance to resist a critical hit by 30% and inflicting［Sleep］on them for 1 turn.［Sleep］is dispelled when the target is attacked. This skill ignores［Taunt］and［Stealth］.
	Level 2 (Unlocks by level 21) If an ally is a target, additionally increases their critical hit damage by 15% for 1 turn.
	Level 3 (Unlocks by level 101) The magical attack’s damage becomes equal to 300% of her ATK.
	Level 4 (Unlocks by level 181) The amount a target’s HP is restored by becomes equal to 100% of Chiffon’s ATK, and the number of turns of［Increased Critical Hit Damage］becomes 2.

Chiffon's strength lies in her the DEF buff her first skill grants to her allies, followed by healing and a potent debuff for her enemies in the form of Sleep and a CRIT RES decrease.

The DEF buffs, however, are dispellable and can also be stolen by certain witches. Meanwhile, Chiffon's second skill can be cleansed and even benefit witches, who become more powerful with the more debuffs they get.

Strong Damage Cut That Degrades Over Time

I’ll Hang On, I Will	Level 1 (Unlocks by level 61) If Chiffon is attacked and takes damage that exceeds 10% of her max HP, the damage is cut by 20%. At the start of each turn, the potency of the damage cutting decreases by 2%. This skill will not activate after the start of the 11th turn.
	Level 2 (Unlocks by level 141) The damage from the enemy’s attack is cut by 30%. At the start of each turn, the potency of the damage cutting decreases by 3%.
	Level 3 (Unlocks by level 221) The damage from the enemy’s attack is cut by 40%. At the start of each turn, the potency of the damage cutting decreases by 4%.

If Chiffon gets hit hard enough (damage exceeds 10% of her HP), the damage is cut by up to 40%, though this damage cut degrades over time at a rate of 4% less damage being cut per turn.

So even if Chiffon gets attacked and the damage is cut on the first turn, she can be attacked with increasing effectiveness in subsequent turns.

Witches to Beat Chiffon

Chiffon Hard Counters

Nina and other witches that can steal buffs will be effective when dealing with Chiffon, as the DEF buffs and shields she grants to her allies with her first skill can be stolen, turning them against her.

Merlyn, Gil'uial, and other witches who can dispel enemy buffs are also useful in dealing with Chiffon's DEF buffs. However, they won't be able to dispel Chiffon's self-buffs.

Kaguya, Priscilla, Sivi, and others can benefit from getting hit by a debuff from Chiffon's second skill, so putting them in your party could help turn the fight in your favor if you don't have dispellers.

Chiffon Sample Counter Teams

Nina Cordie Counter Team

This is a standard Nina team with Fia and Cordie as the main attackers while Merlyn and Sivi give the team buffs. Nina's job is to steal the buffs that Chiffon gives out, while the rest of the team destroys her team in detail.

Chaos Counter Team

A Chaos team lineup with options to counter Chiffon such as Kaguya's debuff on enemies who also give her a debuff, as well as Lunalynn's Silence. Illya's God's Curse version and Paladea meanwhile will do the heavy lifting by attacking the enemy, while Ophelia tanks the enemy's hits and damages them with her Counter stat.

Witches Not To Use Against Chiffon

Since Chiffon's DEF buffs and shields affect her own party, this can be troublesome for witches who hit targets at random or do AOE damage. Though usually they can just be pumped with DEF Break and smash through those buffs regardless.

Any witch without self-cleansing abilities or a dedicated debuff cleanser in the team.

Though Chiffon's debuff happens on the second turn of any fight, it can still be troublesome for witches to end up falling asleep when they're about to unleash a very powerful attack (Cordie, Rusalka, and Illya's God's Curse version have powerful second active skills).

Tips for Beating Chiffon

Steal or Dispel Her DEF Buffs

Don't forget to have a dispeller on hand when facing off against Chiffon. Or, better yet, have a witch that can steal those DEF buffs.

Pump Up PM. DEF Break With Runes

Bump up the PM. DEF Break stat of your main attackers to minimize the benefits that the enemy will get from Chiffon's buffs. You can't rely solely on your ATK and your witch's main stat for damage.
