Decisive Performances. The Moose team the favorite's label chiefly drawls decisive tournament performances to date. In four games the Lake city outfit has amassed 309 points to their opponents' 209 for average of 77 plus to the foes' '52 per contest. The Lodgemen led off with a 84-48 thumping of the Mishawaka Moose, then eliminated the Elkhart Whisler Packers, 79-60, before swamping Elkhart Culver Motors, 77 to 55.5 Their latest and most glittering triumph was registered in the quarter-finals when they smothered the defending I. The three other teams in the semi-finals, Paris Cleaners, Laporte Eagles 'and North Liberty Lumberjacks, have comparable tourney records, with the latter having the edge in the scoring department. However, each team has been pressed at times, particularly the Laporte squad, which gained a one point decision over the Kokomo All-Stars 48-47, before taking advantage of an overtime period to trip the Culver American legion, 59-54. The Lumberjacks' narrow squeak came in their game against Wakarusa Smith Chevrolets which they won 50-46, and the Paris Cleaners found the going rough in nipping the Wolf Lake Pirates, 45-42.
