How To Get Deviated Crops In Once Human
In Once Human, there are different kinds of food recipes that you can craft to enhance your character's stats and get additional perks to survive. Like weapons and armor, the food you consume also depends on the rarity, and complex recipes can provide multiple temporary buffs, unlike regular food that only replenishes your energy.
When you start crafting your food recipes in Once Human, you'll need a regular supply of crops and other raw materials. Occasionally, your crops can mutate and become deviated, transforming into crops that won’t decay and can be used in special recipes. But there's also a way to optimize this process. Here's how you can get deviated crops in Once Human with ease.

What Are Deviated Crops In Once Human?
Deviated Crops in Once Human are special mutated crops that have a distinct pinkish fume when they mature. Unlike regular crops, Deviated crops do not decay and can be used in special food recipes that provide additional buffs. These crops can occur naturally in the wild or be cultivated on a farm at your base under the right conditions.
You can increase the chances of obtaining Deviated crops by using specific fertilizers or by deploying certain territory deviations that can enhance the mutation rate of your crops.
How To Get Deviated Crops In Once Human
Trying to find deviated crops in the wilderness can be a tough and challenging process, and there's no guarantee that you'll find them in sufficient amounts either. So, rather than searching for them, the best way to get deviated crops is by farming them in your base. There are two ways to enhance your chances of obtaining deviated crops from farming in Once Human.
Using Special Fertilizers
Once you set up a farm in your territory, there are two fertilizers that you can use to increase the chances of mutating your crops, resulting in deviated crops during harvest.
Fertilizer | Effect | Ingredients |
---|---|---|
Fertilizer - Mutation Boost | Increases the probability that a crop will become Deviated. |
|
Improved Compound Fertilizer | Enhances the crop mutation rate and yield but increases harvest time. |
|
The Improved Compound Fertilizer is the more resource-friendly fertilizer for sustaining your deviated crop farm, whereas the mutation boost fertilizer is more of a last resort because of how expensive it is to craft. Depending on which resources you can spare, both of these fertilizers can help you get deviated crops.
Using Deviants
You might have noticed that you need to get deviated mushrooms to make the fertilizer that will allow you to farm deviated crops. To make that happen, you can deploy certain territory deviants that not only help you farm but also enhance the chances of acquiring deviated crops.
Deviant | Effect | How To Obtain |
---|---|---|
Growshroom | Accelerates crop growth, enhances crop mutation rates, and helps in farming. | Obtained from collecting Mushrooms |
Buzzy Bee | Increases the chances for crops to mutate while growing. | Can be found and captured on farms |
When you've collected enough deviated mushrooms, you should switch to keeping only Buzzy Bee deviants because the mutation rates with them are much better than that with Growshrooms.
