When does enrollment begin?

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024. Students who enroll during this enrollment session will begin school the following school year (in the fall of 2024).

How do I enroll?

Visit theSchoolMint Enroll pagetocomplete and submit an enrollment form for each child you are enrolling.

SchoolMint Enroll can be accessed through the following link: https://stisd.schoolmint.com/signup

Do I have to drive to my selected campus to enroll?

No. Since the enrollment form is online, you can complete it at home or anywhere else where you have access to the Internet.

Will I be required to turn in all paperwork or required records to my selected campus at the time of online enrollment?

No. You will not need to turn in your required paperwork and records until after you have received an offer from your selected campus and have accepted it. At that time you will be able to begin the registration through the SchoolMint Enroll System.

I don't have the Internet. Can you mail me a form?

Unfortunately, we no longer use paper. Please contact us through the support methods listed on the website, if you have any issues completing our enrollment form online. Our campuses and facilities will also be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, in case you want to visit and use our computers to complete your enrollment form.

Is the same enrollment form used for all schools?

Yes. The form, however, will ask you to select the grade and school (or schools) you wish to attend. This information will be selected within the School Selection section in the enrollment form for each child. You can select more than one school within an enrollment form, so you will not need to complete more than one enrollment form if you wish to request a seat at multiple schools.

How will I know if I successfully reserved a seat for the upcoming school year at my desired campus?

You must receive an offer from the campus of your choice to know that you have a seat reserved. When completing the enrollment form, you will be able to request a seat at your desired campus (or campuses). Once your enrollment form has been submitted, the campus will be able to see your request. The campus will make offers to enrollment forms in the order in which they were received. Offers will be made within three business days of submission of the enrollment form. Please note that, even after you successfully receive and accept an offer, your seat can still be lost, if you do not complete registration.

What if I am enrolling two students at different campuses?

If you are enrolling two different students at two different campuses, you can use the same family profile, but you will need to create two different student profiles (and enrollment forms) - one for each child. You will need to select the desired school or schools for each child within each enrollment form and submit the form in order to request a seat.

What information do I need to enroll?

Within the family profile, student profile and enrollment form, you will only need basic information, such as address, phone numbers, parent/guardian and basic education information, including grade level and school to which you are enrolling. You will also need a valid e-mail address or mobile phone number. If you do not have an e-mail address, you can create a free account at www.gmail.com.

You will be asked to complete Registration forms through SchoolMint once you have accepted an offer from a campus. This will require submission of more detailed information.

What are the requirements to enroll?

STISD is here to serve the students and families of the Rio Grande Valley. All students within the tri-county area served - Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy Counties - are eligible to enroll with us. The requirements to enroll include: You must: 1) live in Cameron, Hidalgo or Willacy County; 2) be promoted to the grade to which you are enrolling; and 3) complete the Registration packet through SchoolMint and turn in any other required information to the campus.

Enrollment forms are processed on a first-come, first-served basis while seats are available.

When does enrollment end?

Enrollment closes when a school reaches its capacity. STISD enrollment operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and offers are made on enrollment forms in the order in which they are received. It is best to enroll (request a seat reservation) as early as possible after the start time. Seats will be offered to those who completed it earliest (in the order submitted), until capacity is reached.

How do I know if enrollment is still open?

Even after the campus has extended offers to fill its available seats, you may still be able to request a seat at a particular campus. If the system allows you to select the grade and school you want, you may have an opportunity for a seat, or you could be added to a waitlist for further consideration, should offers fall through. You can always check with individual campuses to see if they are still accepting enrollment forms as well.

How do I know if I've been accepted?

You must receive an offer from the campus of your choice to know that you have a seat reserved. When completing the enrollment form, you will be able to request a seat at your desired campus (or campuses). Once your enrollment form has been submitted, the campus will be able to see your request. The campus will make offers to enrollment forms in the order in which they were received. Offers will be made within three business days of submission of the enrollment form. Please note that, even after you successfully receive and accept an offer, your seat can still be lost, if you do not complete registration.

What happens after I submit my enrollment form?

Once you submit your enrollment form with a seat request (or seat requests), the campus will be able to see your form in the system. Campuses will make offers to enrollment forms in the order in which they were received. Offers will be made within three business days of submission of the form. Once an offer is made to you, you will then need to log back in to SchoolMint to accept the offer and begin the Registration packet.

Please note that, even after you successfully receive and accept an offer, your seat can still be lost, if you do not complete the registration.

What if I have problems submitting the form (technical problems)?

Please call our Technology Department at 956-514-0752 if you experience technical difficulties. Be sure to call and be sure to hold on the line (if necessary).

I'm an 8th grader right now. Can I still enroll at one of the junior highs?

If you are able to select the 8th-grade within the enrollment form, the schools to which you are wanting to enroll may have space available in that grade level. You can reach out to the middle school campuses directly to find out for sure if space exists.

I'm a 10th grader right now. Can I still enroll at the high school?

All of the high schools will accept enrollment forms for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders for 2024-2025.

Can I fill out an enrollment form for more than one school?

You can request a seat at more than one STISD campus within your enrollment form, and you can receive seat offers from more than one STISD campus. However, you can only accept one offer, and you must do so within two weeks of receiving the offer; otherwise, your offer will be rescinded by the campus. Accepting an offer from one campus will withdraw/decline your offers from all other campuses, so you want to be sure that you make the choice carefully.

What if I'm not sure which school I want to go to?

You will need to do a little homework to make up your mind. Visit the district's Academics page or watch our STISD Virtual Tour to learn more about the schools.

Are there any settings I need to have on my computer to enroll online?

It is highly recommended that you upgrade to the most recent version of Internet Explorer or Firefox to achieve the best results.

What if I do not have information for my mother or father? Can I still enroll?

Absolutely. You are only required to enter one parent/guardian.

Why do I not see the button for the enrollment form?

If you do not see the button for the enrollment form, you can visit theSchoolMint Enroll websitedirectly at the following link: https://stisd.schoolmint.com/signup.

Is there a waiting list if the grade level I am interested in is already full?

Yes. Within the SchoolMint Enroll system, there are waitlists. You will be able to request a seat from more than one campus within your enrollment form, and will receive offers or waitlist assignments based upon where your enrollment form falls within the requests. You can only accept one offer, however, so you will need to decide whether to wait for a seat to open up for your desired campus, if waitlisted, or to accept an offer from one of the other campuses, if available.

When I call the Technology Department, my call keeps getting disconnected or I cannot get through. Who else can help me with questions?

If you are having problems enrolling and are unable to reach the Technology Department, you can call your selected campus and explain the situation. Someone at the campus will be able to assist you with reaching the Technology team or other appropriate office or help you resolve your issue. For STISD campus contact information, visit the district's Enroll page.

I applied and did not receive any information confirming my enrollment. Is there someone I can talk to who can confirm my enrollment?

Yes. If you did not receive any information confirming your enrollment form submission, you can reach out to your campus of interest. For contact information, visit the district's Contact Us page.
